I wanted to dedicate a blog post to show off our workroom! This is our hobby room, which is located in our basement that has a station for just about all of our hobbies. In the first picture is the cabbing machine, where, well, all of the cabbing is done. As soon as the preforms are cut out, they are taken down here and put in the 100 box (100 is referencing which stage it is at, so the cabs in the 100 box must be worked through the 100 grit wheel). This is where I spent the majority of my day. I love it so much!
In the second group of pictures is our workbench for making epoxy wood boards and how we store the boards that have already been completed! This hobby is something that my stepfather and I do together. Really, we generate the ideas together and then he does the rest. This is something that we both enjoy and are excited to eventually take these to craft shows! I really enjoy going to pick out the wood at our local wood mill and seeing all of the potential each and every piece of wood there has. It is so inspiring!
In the last picture are the 3D printers. This is where the creativity really takes off! We have 3D-printed items scattered all over the house ranging from characters such as Batman and Mike Wazowski to a life-sized Dwayne the Rock Johnson head. We even have an army of Dwayne Johnson heads with octopus tentacles! It is always so much fun to see what is printed next (each time it seems to be more ridiculous than the last!!).
Bonus picture: We have a very grumpy resident living in our hobby room. Eleanor the hedgehog only comes out when it is dark, and if you dare to interact with her, no matter how kindly, she gets awfully upset with you. However, we have slowly started to become friends. She will occasionally stick around to say hi and lick my fingers, as odd as it may be.
